Ayubowan!

Ayubowan, meaning "May you live long", is the customary greeting of Sri Lankans that denotes welcome, goodbye, respect, devotion or loyalty.

Last night we had the privilege of being included in an authentic Sri Lankan dinner at the home of the Adams, along with 3 other families. Vinny and Sonali, native Sri Lankans, introduced us to the delicious cuisine of that little island with the following dishes: Beef Curry, Sri Lankan Lentils, Sri Lankan Red Chicken, cucumber and yogurt sauce, and rice. Sonali even supplied "saris" for the wives to wear. We all felt so feminine draped in the beautiful and rich-colored fabrics. Most importantly we had a great time getting to know a few families the Adams have become close with through their children's school.
